“Professional” apologists and evolution-deniers don’t use this argument regularly anymore because it has been absolutely shredded to pieces and has been refuted countlessly. Answers in Genesis even has this argument listed as one to avoid, saying that when people use it they “demonstrate their lack of understanding of the evolutionists’ position.”

Income taxes, no matter how much they’re despised, are important for the United States government to function, at least in the manner it does currently. However, the constitutionality of income taxes as we know them today has been a heated and highly contended issue since they were first imposed. And the debate still isn’t over today.
One of the most common reasons used by evolution-deniers to dismiss all of the mountains of biological, morphological, paleontological, embryological, taxonomic, genetic, and observed evidence that has led an overwhelming majority of unbiased biologists and men of science to no other explanation for our planet’s complex biodiversity other than natural selection, is not actually a real or valid argument! It is a zinger and the anti-science apologists who relentlessly use it might as well be sticking their fingers in their ears and singing “La-la-la-la-la-la-la”.
The cosmological argument is an argument for the existence of God, also known as the argument from first cause. This is quite an ancient argument in defense of deities; in fact, it was first posited by men like Plato, Aristotle, and Thomas Aquinas. But its status as a valid argument has been called into question by many atheists.
Unless if you are in a wacky fringe group wearing a tin foil hat, you believe in gravity. Everybody believes in the concept of gravity. And the reason I say “believe” instead of another word, such as “understand”, is because a majority of people are probably not familiar with the unabridged works of Albert Einstein regarding the theories of general and special relativity, nor does this majority have a complex understanding of gravity based on quantum mechanics. And sure, when you ask a layman for proof of this so-called gravity, he may pick up an object, like a pen, and simply drop it. Strange, however, that there is no overwhelming consensus by non-scientists to the truthfulness of evolutionary theory, when there is so much evidence for evolution, some testimonies to the veracity of natural selection as obvious to a common person as dropping a pen to prove that gravity exists. The truth is, scientists are certain that evolution is just as much fact as gravity is.
